Our team would not have met if it weren't for the people who have made possible the Science Hack Day (SHD) Berlin!
The second SHD in the city and an overnight success, not only for being a 48 hour non-stop event, but for creating a melting pot of scientists, artists, designers... all of them passionate about their fields and eager to plan, design and fabricate solutions to the different scientific problems that were raised by the participants themselves.
After a few lightning talks to provide us with inspiration and warm up our brains, participants presented their pitches (ideas of "hacks") really briefly. The pitches were thrown to the audience like potential hypothesis to scientists or blank walls to artists. What else could we say than "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED" ?! So, the teams started to get in shape and the 48 hour race to make our "hacks" come alive began!
People worked energetically on hacks that ranged from robots controlled by our brains, to IPO (input-process-ouput) tables, vibrators programmed with seismic data or devices to make plants follow the sunlight (or make beer follow the shadow), among many other incredibly creative ideas.
It was really enriching, not only to be able to work with a team of enthusiasts about Popcorns & Radioactive Decay, but to have contact with the other teams and gain an insight into their innovative ideas and approaches.

Thanks for some of the pictures to Dmitri Katz, Ella Funk and MetaMind Photography.
In addition, many thanks to Christoph Baierlipp for being the graphic recorder of SHD.
